These are summaries from just 2 of the 5 article we cover every week! For access to more, please visit JournalFeed.org for details about becoming a member.

Thursday Spoon Feed:

Among patients in the RIETE database with confirmed PEs, there was a low failure rate when the PERC rule was retroactively applied. PERC negative patients who had PEs were less likely to have proximal or high-risk PEs, and their rates of cardiopulmonary complications were lower when compared to PERC positive patients.

Friday Spoon Feed:

The GRACE-3 group (SAEM) provides us with a guideline based on their review we covered previously of the evidence for evaluating and managing adult patients presenting to emergency departments for acute dizziness. Emergency clinicians need additional training in physical exam techniques related to acute dizziness in order to perform them effectively, which should be a specialty-wide goal for the future.

The voice behind the mic! I'm an emergency medicine resident with a real nerdy love for podcasts and evidence based medicine. Joined the JournalFeed team way back in the before times (pre-COVID).

Hi! I've been practicing emergency medicine for over 20 years and started JournalFeed. I'm the Chief Spoon-Feeder, which means I either write or edit everything that's posted on the JournalFeed blog. But Nick totally runs the show with the podcast!
